This beautifully restored farmhouse set in private grounds is only a 10 minute drive from the white village of Jimena de la Frontera, in the province of Cadiz. The overall décor is natural, comfortable and romantic with everything you need for relaxing or entertaining.

The main house consists of a spacious living area which features a large corner fireplace with entertainment being provided by the TV, Bose stereo/DVD, iPod docking station and full size American pool table. Wi-fi internet access is available to those who bring their own laptop. The Bulthaup kitchen with Gaggenau appliances includes a built-in coffee machine, steam oven, regular oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and icemaker. The dining table on the main (covered) terrace can seat 10.

The master bedroom is furnished with a king sized bed, fitted wardrobes and an en-suite bathroom with large walk-in power shower and double basins. A freestanding hand carved marble bath sits in a corner of the bedroom by the fireplace. The second double bedroom features a king sized bed, walk in wardrobe and a bathroom with walk-in power shower.

The tower bedroom which boasts a lovely elevated view over the swimming pool is furnished with two single beds, a wardrobe and a desk. The bathroom to the tower bedroom is located underneath and is shared with the small but very sweet single bedroom next to it.

The casita (guest cottage) located a few steps down from the dining terrace consists of a large double bedroom, a private bathroom with walk in shower, a comfortable living room, a small but fully equipped kitchen and a private terrace to the rear. The casita is furnished with a plasma screen TV, music system with speakers and iPod docking station. Two sofa beds are also available if required.

A separate laundry room and drying area can be found to the side of the guest cottage.

All the bathrooms are in the Moroccan style with polished plaster walls and various handmade mosaic features. The fittings are of the highest standard, and water pressure is powerful with all the bathroom floors having under floor heating.

There is air conditioning throughout (for cooling & heating), which is rarely needed due to the breeze and ample shade, however it can be useful in the height of summer (july/august). In addition the house is fully centrally heated, and has two fireplaces. A baby cot and highchair can be provided.

The outdoor features include an Andaluz style central courtyard with lemon trees and a fountain, a large shaded outside terrace for dining and entertaining, a 10m x 10m swimming pool, chiringuito (pool bar, fridge/icemaker and barbecue) and music system/iPod connections for the terrace and pool area. Beach/Pool towels are provided.

Olive, fig, almond, pomegranate, eucalyptus and citrus trees grow in the garden, along with organic salad, herbs, tomatoes and vegetables in season. There is a large area of lawn winding all the way around the property for children to play. A garage is found at the top of the driveway that leads to the house.

The neighbouring meadow which is fenced off from the garden, is home 2 elderly Shetland ponies, who enjoy being fed fruit and vegetables by young children. Birdwatchers will enjoy seeing all sorts of migratory birds including hoopoes, swallows, eagles, vultures and in the spring the meadows are full of wild flowers. Every evening at about 8pm the normally peaceful atmosphere is broken for a few brief minutes when the black pigs who reside on the hillside opposite realise that it's feeding time. All of this is part and parcel of the rural appeal of this wonderfully charming country residence.

Jimena de la Frontera is a historic village located approximately 35 kilometres inland and surrounded by the Los Alcornocales National Park. Having been officially declared of Historical and Artistic Importance in 1983, the typical Andalucian architecture is now being carefully preserved. The town sits on the slope of a hill and an un-hurried meander through the steep and narrow cobbled streets will allow you to soak up the village atmosphere, explore the many delights and enjoy the spectacular views. The countryside surrounding Jimena is as beautiful as it is varied with stunning landscapes that are a joy for both nature lovers and those looking for calm and relaxation.

Only 20 minutes by car will take you to the Sotogrande, Spain's largest and most prestigious country estate. Boasting a world class marina, a world renowned Polo club and numerous fantastic golf courses including the Valderrama course, host to the Volvo Masters and Ryder Cup. Of course an abundance of other outdoor activities can be enjoyed including tennis, horse riding and sailing.

A 20 minute drive will take you to Gaucin a spectacularly beautiful mountain village commanding sweeping views to Gibraltar and the Rif mountains of North Africa. Perched 626 metres above sea level the village offers some of the most varied landscapes in the region. Situated against the looming dark backdrop of the Serranía de Ronda, the whitewashed houses of the village make it one of the most beautiful of the region attracting many artists to the village.

An hours drive will take you to Tarifa on the Costa de la Luz. Ten kilometres of white sandy beaches, unspoilt countryside and some of the best windsurfing conditions in Europe attracts surfers and nature lovers alike. Every population which has either settled or passed through Taifa has left its imprint. This is evident from the traces of ancient Rome to the modern windsurfing culture althoughTarifa'sMoorish style is still predominant with its medina (old city centre).

The nearest airport to the villa is Gibraltar which is approximately 30 minutes away with Malaga being a little further at approximately 90 minutes drive.

Notes to Rental Rates

A refundable security deposit of 600 Euros is required to cover any damages or breakages to the property. This is to be paid in cash on arrival at the property.

Rates include: Weekly maid service, welcome grocery pack, air conditioning (for both cooling and heating) and wi-fi internet access.

Rates do not include (available on request): A housekeeper (living in a separate apartment) to arrange breakfast and dinner, shopping, barbecues and picnics for the beach.
