Canada

In Canada, the snow is measured in feet rather than inches - so need we say more about the benefits of a skiing holiday here! However, there are plenty of other reasons to visit. There's the longer ski season, fewer crowds, no language barrier and a particularly good exchange rate. Add to this the lure of fabulous resorts such as Whistler and Tremblant, with their superb hotels, gourmet restaurants and excellent shopping and you'll understand why so many wintersports' enthusiasts are choosing Canada over its European counterparts.

Climate guideClimate Guide
Being such a large country, the climate varies depending on which area one visits. Canada also has very distinct seasons. The warmest months are July and August, and in winter (December, January and February) it is very cold with heavy snowfalls in most provinces, perfect for skiers.

Mexico

Think vibrant art, ancient civilisations, cacti-covered deserts and dense rainforests bursting with wildlife. Add to these a string of Caribbean beaches with soft, pink coral sand, bustling cities and modern holiday resorts. All unforgettable images, which start to make up the fascinating country of Mexico. Vivacious Mexicans are perfect hosts and provide entertainment through lively salsa dancing and Tequila bars. Then, of course, there are the local spicy specialities - guacamole, chilli-packed tortillas etc. With hours of glorious sunshine, the temperature certainly rises making Mexico one of the hottest destinations on the planet!

United States of America

A country of vast proportions, the USA certainly has every base covered when it comes to holidays. From pulsating, cutting-edge cities to laid-back beach resorts, there's something for everyone in the world's biggest super-power. Join the 24-hour party people in New York; enjoy the bohemian ambience of San Francisco; gamble the night away in Las Vegas; or brave the white-knuckle rides in Orlando - just a few ideas for planning your holiday state-side.

Climate guideClimate Guide
Due to the immense size and spread of topology in the US, the climate is incredibly varied. The northern states are the coldest, with bitter freezing winters - especially in the plains, Midwest and Northeast. Low temperatures in January and February in the Northwest are occasionally tempered by warm chinook winds from the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains.

Spring and autumn (fall) conditions are generally mild, warm & sunny - but also wet in some areas particularly the Pacific Northwest
