Bahrain

Oman

Qatar

Bordered by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, Qatar is a modern country of flat, desert terrain dotted with striking natural features. Its capital, Doha, offers a mix of authentic Arabian and ultra-modern architecture; to the north are most of the country's historic sites; to the west, the best beaches at Umm Bab. There's plenty to keep the whole family entertained here, with a selection of attractions including dune driving and golf. It also makes a superb stop-over for those heading for the Maldives.
