This beautiful and luxurious 5 bedroom Croatian Villa is situated in northern Istria was completed in May 2009. The villa has been converted from an old school house and sits on top of a hill with 360 degree views over the sea, Motovun and Grozjnan. The villa boasts 450 square metres of living area set in 4,000 square metres of land.

The villa features comfortable sitting and living areas with log fires, equipped with SKY satellite tv, a dvd player and cd player. There is also a PC with hi-speed wireless internet connection. The kitchenn is fully equipped with an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine and an attractive open plan dining area features 4 metre high ceilings and spectacular views.

Each of the five bedrooms features en suite facilities. The master double bedroom features an en-suite with bath and seperate shower, a second double bedroom features an en-suite with bath tub. There are two twin bedrooms (both of which can be converted into double bedrooms if preferred) one of these bedrooms has an en-suite with a bath tub and the other an en-suite with shower. The final bedroom is a twin bedded room with a seperate shower room.

The villa is equipped with air conditioning in all bedrooms and the living area. A hairdryer and wall safe are provided and two baby cots and a highchair are available on request. The villa is fully staffed with a housekeeper/cook and gardener. There will also be a local concierge who can recommend and book restaurants and activities.

The heated swimming pool with walk in steps measures 12 metres x 5 metres and pool/beach towels are provided. A gas barbecue enables you to enjoy summer dining al fresco.

Situated in the westernmost part of Croatia, the Istrian peninsula is a treasure trove of tiny hilltop towns amongst a landscape of green rolling hills and fertile valleys with a rugged and indented coastline featuring numerous rocky beaches.

Probably the most famous and attractive Istrian medieval town of Motovun overlooks the Mirna river valley. This ancient acropolis town perched on a 277 metre high hill is one of the characteristic symbols of the Istrian interior. Leading to the top of the hill and its Venetian town square is the longest Istrian staircase, with 1,052 steps. Motovun is surrounded by vineyards from which the finest Istrian wines, white wine - Malvasia and red wine - Teran, are produced. The Mirna valley Motovun forest which extends for kilometres along the Mirna valley, is the dwelling place of the famed underground mushrooms, truffles that are extracted in this region with the help of specially trained dogs. Summer and early autumn is the period when black truffles come to fruition, whereas the Istrian white truffles are gathered in late autumn and winter. Attractive restaurants in village squares offer regional specialities (including truffles galore) and good Craotian wines.

Groznjan, a small Istrian town of great cultural significance is an artists' colony with the little streets and squares of Gro?njan metamorphoses into a truly artistic beehive. With a view of the sea and a stunning valley spread below it, the town has retained its medieval features. The town-gates throw up a labyrinth of tiny, crooked cobblestone streets which veer off in a dozen different directions. This labyrinth of little streets and open courtyards make way for various workshops and become one great stage on which the sounds of jazz and classical music, guitar and piano, violin and cello, drum and vibraphone constantly interchange during the summer months.

Notes to Rental Rates

A refundable security deposit of £1,000 (payable in advance) is required to cover any damages or breakages.

Rates include: Maid service 6 days per week, a housekeeper to prepare meals (breakfast and either lunch or dinner), pool/garden maintenance and internet access.

A saturday changeover is preferred however other days may be considered upon request.
